teenjalex:

I really hate being an introvert because I sometimes think “oh hey, I can totally hang out with a bunch of people right now! I can handle it! I hate being alone!!” and then three hours into hanging out I realize how draining of energy it is for me to be around other people and I just want to curl up into a ball and isolate myself for the rest of my life.

Yes. This is me.

To bend but not to break… to yield but not capitulate… to have pride but also humility. This has always been my struggle.

mydeborahkerr:

The Sundowners (1960)

During the wardrobe tests, Zinnemann said he was dissatisfied with Deborah’s appearance: “There’s something wrong. Miss Kerr still has that undefinable air of elegance. It must be the clothes.”
It wasn’t the clothes at all, explained the wardrobe woman. It was the way she wore them: “We can change the clothes, Mr. Zinnemann, but we can’t change the woman.”
Deborah came with the solution on how to dispel the aura of glamour and give her the true appearance of a woman of the Australian “outback”: she would let her shoulders slump slightly and she would wear shoes with rundown heels.
